August is drawing to a close, the lockdown is easing in Brazil & ACE Projects is (slowly) getting back into the swing of things. Whilst we are very much supporters of accelerating community empowerment, we aren’t so keen on accelerating community infection! With this in mind, we are progressing our operations, but cautiously - and as safely as possible.
Children are returning to classes with new safety measures in place. Across the 6 Favelas, we are looking to provide 5 hours per day for each child. As their skills improve and they adapt to being in the community centres, we are hoping they will develop long term habits of keeping active and engaged with their community. We are teaching them to develop their own positive paths through life, after the pandemic briefly and abruptly put their development/education on hold.
We are extremely proud of the work we have done since the start of 2020 and would like to encourage you to read our Half Year Report which outlines our progress thus far through these tough times.
Please find attached here a digital half year report and we hope you will enjoy it.
